Natural Rock Climbing Cuenca

This activity takes place on the volcanic hill in Cojitambo. Due to its ideal location in the Andes, it’s the popular and important rock climbing spot, thanks to its archaeological relics. There are more than 100 different climbing routes. If you don’t have any experience don’t worry, since this mountain has many different levels for beginners and advanced climbers. Join us for a full day of climbing on what has been billed as “the most important rock climbing site in the country, with a hundred routes for anywhere from beginners to the most skilled climbers”! Due to its ideal location in the Andes, the hill was used by the Cañari as a ceremonial center and later as a strategic rest site for military purposes. Today it is considered Ecuador’s most important rock climbing spot thanks to its archaeological relics and varied routes. There are more than 100 different climbing routes for beginners and advanced climbers. We explore the western side of the Cojitambo that provides different channels (10) for beginners who can scale walls from 3060 meters, with a range of difficulty from 5.5 to 5.10 b (US Scale).
